State of play

Today, your talent process looks like this.

The most under-measured operational lever in modern venture. Recognise yourself?

  • 01

A #talent-network Slack with 47 members and 3 messages per week.

  • 02

An 'Open Roles' Google Sheet updated once per quarter.

  • 03

An email every 3 months: 'we have a great rejected VP Sales, who needs one?'

  • 04

Zero portfolio-aggregated cost-per-hire numbers in any of your board packs.

  • 05

Capped at 3-4 cross-portco placements per year — while your portcos sign 80 to 150 hires.

→ It works. It plateaus. And the carry leakage shows up in no LP report.

The problem

Your portcos are burning capital on hiring.

Four structural frictions every investment committee recognises — without a tool to fix them.

01

Internal competition

Your portcos hire the same profiles, on the same channels, at the same price. The fund pays three times for the same curation.

02

Lost finalists

One portco rejects a qualified finalist. Another is searching for that exact profile. No one knows. The talent vanishes.

03

No aggregated view

Every board pack contains a 'hiring' slide. None are comparable. Partners navigate blind.

04

Carry leakage

0.4 to 0.8% of carry lost every cycle to an operational problem nobody measures, nobody reports in LP letters.

The solution

One platform. Four steps.

From fund onboarding to consolidated KPIs — without touching the portcos' internal processes.

01

Fund onboarding

30 minutes with our team. You define the sharing policy and invite your portfolio companies.

02

Portco activation

Each portco activates its workspace in 10 min. No ATS to replace, native integrations with Greenhouse / Ashby / Lever.

03

Talent pooling

Rejected finalists circulate automatically between portcos based on your sharing rules, anonymised by default.

04

Consolidated KPIs

Fund dashboard: portfolio cost-per-hire, time-to-fill, pooled talent, carry leakage in basis points.

Sharing policy

Three levels. You stay in control.

From inner circle to open ecosystem — every fund sets its own cadence and guardrails.

Level 3
Level 2

Level 1

Your portcos

01

Level 1

Your portcos

Finalists flow immediately between portcos within the same fund. Maximum confidentiality.

02

Level 2

Partner funds

Activated after a configurable delay, towards friendly funds you co-invest with.

03

Level 3

Extended network

Progressive opening to non-competing companies. Manually activated, never by default.

→ Sequential activation. You stay in control at every step.

Multi-fund reality

Your portcos have multiple funds in their cap table.

A typical Series B portco has 3 to 7 institutional investors. Skalisto handles this natively.

Acme (portco) sits in Sequoia's, Index's and Atomico's portfolios. The 3 funds each pay a separate subscription. Acme appears in all 3 fund dashboards — each fund sees its own rollup.

Acme's rejected finalists flow into the global network, not a per-fund silo. The wider the network, the more efficient pooling becomes for everyone.

And between the 3 funds — each one stays blind to the other's portfolio. Which brings us to the next point.

Multi-fund confidentiality

Fund data stays fund. Always.

This is the first objection from any serious Partner. Here's exactly what each fund sees — and doesn't see.

01

Fund-private dashboards

Sequoia never sees Index's portfolio. No fund data leaves your perimeter — including for shared portcos. KPIs, hires, comp ranges: everything is fund-scoped.

02

Anonymisation by default

On the pooling network, finalists circulate without identity. The destination portco sees 'Senior Backend, ex-Stripe, 6yrs XP' — not 'Jean Dupont rejected by Acme'. Re-identification on mutual acceptance only.

03

Masked provenance

Destination portcos never know which source portco a finalist came from. No fund learns anything about another fund's hires or rejections through the platform. Bloomberg-style, not LinkedIn-style.

Differentiation

Not an ATS. Not a sourcing agent. A fund-level category.

Why a Partner buys Skalisto rather than another tool — and why portco ATS and agentic sourcing don't cover the fund-level need.

Who it's for (and who it isn't)

We know our customer. And our non-customer.

For you if

  • Growth fund, late-stage VC, growth-PE, tech-tilted family office
  • €200M to €2B AUM · 12 to 35 active portcos
  • 0 to 2 fund-level HR people (no dedicated Talent team)
  • Your portcos sign 60 to 200 hires/year and you have no aggregated number

Not for you if

  • × Sequoia, a16z, Index Ventures, Atomico, Bessemer, General Catalyst
  • × You already built a 10+ person Talent team in-house
  • × You run an early-stage seed fund with under 8 portcos
  • × Your thesis excludes operational coordination across portcos

→ We build the infrastructure for the 200+ funds that don't have the scale to internalise. If you're top-tier with an in-house Talent team, you're not our customer — you're our reference.

Trust & infrastructure

Built to pass an LP due diligence.

We sell to funds. Governance is aligned with what your Limited Partners expect — not what a portco-grade ATS ships with.

Note from the founder

When I first sat down with a Partner from a European growth fund, he described the problem in two sentences: 22 portcos hiring the same profiles in parallel, with zero coordination. Senior Backend, VP Sales SaaS, Head of Finance. At every hire, three qualified rejected finalists vanish — while the portco next door is searching for that exact profile.

Measured across his portfolio, that waste runs €1.8M to €2.2M per year in recruiter fees paid double or triple. Across the fund's lifetime, 40 to 80 basis points of carry lost to an operational problem nobody measures, nobody reports in LP letters, nobody discusses in investment committee.

Sequoia, a16z, Index figured this out eight years ago and built in-house Talent teams. For the 200+ other European growth funds that don't have the scale to internalise, the state of the art stops at a #talent-network Slack channel and a quarterly Google Sheet.

Skalisto is building the missing infrastructure. Not another ATS. Not another sourcing agent. A platform whose only function is to turn a rejected finalist into a portfolio opportunity — with the governance and confidentiality standards a Partner of institutional capital expects.

If you run 12 to 35 portcos and 'cost-per-hire portfolio-aggregated' doesn't appear in any of your board packs, we should probably talk.
